How to Choose a Tea
We are proud to offer a wide selection of loose leaf teas from around the world, each with its own story, flavour, and character. Whether you're a seasoned tea drinker or a curious newcomer, we want your experience to be enjoyable and meaningful. That’s why we work with a trusted tea distributor who is deeply committed to ethical and sustainable practices. They partner only with growers and producers who uphold strong social and environmental values, and they routinely inspect the farms and factories they work with to ensure these standards are met.
Our tea distributor’s ethical checklist includes:
Zero tolerance for child or slave labour – only adult, voluntary labour is permitted.
Fair compensation – workers are paid a living wage for their work.
Access to free medical care and education – many tea farms invest in services for their workers and their families.
Reinvestment in infrastructure – profits are used to improve working conditions and facilities.
Respect for the labour force – safe working environments and reasonable hours are prioritized.
Good community relationships – growers support the well-being of their surrounding communities.
By choosing a tea here, you're not just enjoying a delicious cup—you're supporting a system that values fairness, care, and sustainability.
Having Trouble Choosing?
What type of tea would you like?
Start by thinking what type of tea you’re in the mood for. Do you want something energizing, calming, exciting, or gentle?
Each type of tea - black, darjeeling, oolong, green, white, rooibos, or herbal - has unique characteristics. The differences come from how the tea is processed after harvesting (oxidizing, steaming, or fermenting) and where it is grown (climate, soil, or altitude).
Black Tea is fully oxidized with a strong, robust flavour
Darjeeling Tea is grown in the Darjeeling province of India for a distinct sweet flavour
Oolong Tea falls between green and black in terms of oxidation
Green Tea is minimally processed with a fresh, grassy, or vegetal taste
White Tea is the most delicate made from young leaves or buds with minimal handling
Rooibos Tea is a caffeine free tea with fruity flavours and sweet notes
Herbal Tea is made from herbs, flowers and fruits
Do you want a classic or specialty tea?
Classic teas are high quality teas made using traditional methods with widely grown tea leaves. They’re perfect for everyday drinking with familiar and comforting flavours.
Specialty teas come from more specific regions using rarer leaves and involve hand-processing techniques. The teas are smoother, more aromatic, and more nuanced. These teas are similar to single-origin coffees or fine wines.
Would you like something with flavour?
Some teas are naturally enhanced with flavours from fruits, flowers, herbs, or spices creating a layered taste experience. They can range from floral to bold and fruity.
Still having trouble deciding?
That’s totally okay! Choosing tea should be fun, not stressful. If you’re stuck or unsure, just ask your server. We are passionate about tea and always happy to help you find something you’ll enjoy - a comforting classic, a bold new flavour, or a rare specialty.
